His plans may be to great of a mystery for me to handle sometimes...

What are you waiting for Lord... Haha how many times have I prayed a prayer along these lines to my beautiful Father. Camp has been amazing, and I will do it again in a heart beat if that's what the Lord calls me to do next summer. But I can't help but think how ready I am, no how much I crave, the simple homey life...you know the one where you are tied down and have responsibilities. It's ironic because everyone tells me how lucky I am to not have any commitments and that I am able to do whatever I want, and it is all I can do to nod and smile. It's ironic because I can honestly say that I crave the tied down life. The life with responsibilities and someone that I have to consult with before doing things. I think it has a lot to do with my desire to just love and serve someone. Someone who I get to share life with, through the good and the bad. Someone to serve the Lord alongside. Someone who's stuck with me...oh who will be so lucky JK:) Check out http://morgdavis.blogspot.com/2011/02/i-will-know-hes-one.html and the list only grows everyday:)
I mean there's just such a desire in my heart for marriage and children that I know God has something great ahead, but I know that the wait is still hard. I literally feel like my desire for these things grows more and more each day!
And for so many of my friends that are in the same place, I just want to encourage you. God's timing and His provision are perfect! He has given us this season to pursue Him and His purpose with an undivided heart! To remember our first love and to hold tight to it! For me, something I have really loved about being single and having to move home is the sweet time I get with my family! Look around and look for the reason God has you in this season of singleness and ask Him to help you to appreciate those and dwell on those things so that you won't miss out on the blessings He has for you. (Trust me this is all for me more than anyone. I can definitely say I am in desperate need of this reminder these days!) And lastly know that the wait will be well worth it one day because you were obedient to the Lord in waiting and He will be incredibly faithful to provide an amazing person for you to share life and serve Him alongside! I could go on and on about this but I think I will let the Lord wrap this one up:)
Isaiah 55:8-9
For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the LORD.
9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Does it get any crazier/any better!?!?

Oh my week 6, You may easily go down in history as the week of Tulane Fuge 2011 for all the random craziness but also for the incredible work God did in and through the students this week! Shall we begin with the random craziness:
-575 students and adults on campus
-start off the week with police fussing during unloading church vans
-finish the week off with students jumping off balconies onto piles of mattresses, frisbees hitting a sprinkler head in the boys dorm resulting in the fourth floor being flooded and the whole dorm being evacuated from 12:30-3:00 a.m., and a downpour as we unload from site on Thursday! Oh my! Kudos to all who had to handle these issues directly! These of course are only the highlights of the week:)

Now onto the exciting stuff!
- This week was such an odd but awesome mix of students! So many students came to camp struggling in their relationship with the Lord. Many doubting and questioning God. BUT so many left having at least worked through some of those doubts and receiving some answers. As I talked to a few in my group who were struggling with somethings, I was just excited for them. Excited because even though the things they were saying were not necessarily good, it was very evident that they did not want to leave it that way. They were desiring to work through their issues with the Lord; they were seeking answers! Just to let you know they both left changed people, and I pray that they go home and continue to seek the Lord with passion!

- Despite students struggles this week, they all did an incredible job at site! It was so neat to see them boldly sharing the gospel at so many of the different sites, and for many of them for the first time! I know for my site in particular, I was amazed to see these students step up and share the gospel with these children! I could go on for days talking about this summer and what brought us to the movement of the Lord on Thursday, but I will just say this...before we got off the bus on Thursday I really challenged my students to think of one child on site that they had connected with that week and to share the gospel with them that day! And boy did they! Every time I looked around someone was being intentional with a child on site, and as we were loading up to head back students were telling me left and right someone they had shared the gospel with and prayed with to receive Christ! I mean we were getting ready to load the bus and a PRECIOUS young man (about 11-12) came up with one of my students and wanted to pray to receive Christ, which broke my heart because I felt like there was so much happening and we had to leave! I, in the quickest and simplest way I could shared the gospel with him and prayed with him. I can't say for sure how many salvations we had because I am not sure the level of understanding they had, so I am very anxious to go back next week and talk to each one of those sweet children! Pray that they come! Pray that they will fully understand the story of God's love and grace and salvation!

- These children are hungry for the gospel, for the love of Christ, for what they see that is so different in the lives of these students that have come each week to love on them! I pray that next week God sends such a unique group next week! I told my students this week to pray that God would send someone in the next group that could connect with the skater boys and the soccer players and those that only speak Spanish in a special way! Not saying that they didn't connect with them or that's the only way to reach them, but they all agreed that it would be really neat to see some skater guy in my group next week that can talk on their level or a soccer player who could actually give them some competition:)

- One more week, which is very bittersweet! Love you and all and thank you for all your prayers this summer! I couldn't do it without your love and encouragement!

Such a great week at camp!

Oh my where to even begin. This week has been wonderful. First lets just get the great news out there. We had 2 salvations on site this week! So please please pray that these sweet girls will continue to come out and continue to be discipled over the next two weeks and long after we are gone. It was so exciting to see two campers have the opportunity to lead these young ladies to the Lord...they were so excited!
This week I had such an amazing group! It was just what I needed at this point in the summer. My adults were also so encouraging and awesome with both the students and site kids. We had a smaller week this week on site but some new faces came out which is always wonderful. (sorry I am a bit all over the place. I am trying to make myself stay up until 10 so I am a bit tired) Anyways. It's hard to say specifically why this week was great, but it really was. It was also Christmas week with the staff, so we did lots of fun things and secret santas always had treats awaiting us (my secret santa did amazing...thanks so much Mo!)
Here are some pictures of the week in no certain order because I can't figure out how to move them around:).
Many Bibles were passed out this week, and they were so excited to receive them. Pray that we are able to really teach them how to use them over the next two weeks! It's so cool because some of them are reading them on the weekends and at night, so I am really going to be giving them some guidance over the next few weeks of where to start reading and some specific scriptures.
Here is my awesome and sweet group from the week!
Ok this is Teddy and Anthony. Anthony has a lot of energy and wore Teddy out, but he loved every minute of it.
This is Joel! Love him! He is autistic and is non-verbal. He came out every day this week. Funny story...we knocked on his door Thursday as we do everyday, and he came out with the students who went to get him. Well later his mom comes looking for him because apparently he left while she was in the shower and didn't let her know. He was so excited to come out! One of my adults was an absolute blessing this week. She works with autistic children at a school and spent a lot of time loving on and working with Joel this week...thanks so much Mrs. Amy!
Here's Anthony again. He would run around on all fours. He became known as Mogli off of the Jungle Book:)
Precious brothers got themselves in a bit of a bind.
Sweet boys loved getting their faces painted.

It hit me for the first time this week that I only have 2 weeks left with these sweet kids. I believe God has big plans for this community over the next 2 weeks, so please be praying for BIG things to happen. Also please be praying for me as I get ready to leave these kids trusting that God will bring another group or someone else to continue the work that He has begun there. I can already tell this is going to be an emotional two weeks! I am tired so that will be all for now:) Love you all!!

Week 4:)

This week we had a little slip and slide action for the kiddos:)
